Terms of Service

AlgebraLoop LLC (“AlgebraLoop”, “we”, “us”) provides algebraloop.com and the AlgebraLoop practice service (together, the “Service”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to everyone who visits the site or uses the Service.

If your school or district has signed a service agreement, order form, or data privacy agreement with us (a “District Agreement”), that agreement controls wherever it conflicts with these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and is part of these Terms.

By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Teachers and school staff. You may create a teacher account if you are at least 18 years old and are employed by, or authorized by, a school or district that is permitted to use the Service. You are responsible for using the Service in line with your school’s policies.

Students. Students do not create accounts and do not enter into a contract with us. A student uses the Service because a teacher or school has directed them to. The school is responsible for obtaining any consent that is required for a student to use the Service and for supervising that use. If you are a student, your school has agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

Visitors. Anyone may read the site and try sample problems. Sample use is subject to these Terms too.

• Keep your login credentials private and do not share your account.
• Provide accurate information about yourself and your school, and keep it current.
• You are responsible for activity under your account until you tell us it has been compromised. Write to hello@algebraloop.com right away if you suspect unauthorized use.
• Class lists and assignments you create should only include students you are authorized to teach.

Use the Service for teaching and learning. You agree not to:

• Access, or try to access, another person’s account, progress, or data.
• Use a name that is not yours, or impersonate another student, teacher, or school.
• Copy, scrape, or harvest content or data from the Service by automated means, or resell or redistribute generated problem sets outside your own classroom.
• Reverse engineer the Service or its problem generators, or probe, disrupt, or overload our systems.
• Upload malicious code, or use the Service to send unsolicited messages.
• Use the Service in a way that violates any law, your school’s policies, or another person’s rights.

We may suspend or block access that violates these rules.

Problems, worked explanations, hints, and answer checking on the Service are produced by software, including automated and AI-based systems. We work hard on accuracy, but generated content can be wrong, ambiguous, or misaligned with a particular course. Answer checking is symbolic and can reject a correct form or accept an incorrect one.

The Service is a practice tool. It is not a substitute for a teacher’s instruction or judgment. Teachers remain responsible for reviewing content, assigning grades, and deciding how results are used. Mastery scores and streaks are estimates for practice, not official assessments.

If you find a problem that is wrong, email hello@algebraloop.com with the course, unit, and problem. One of us will look at it.

AP® is a trademark registered by the College Board, which is not affiliated with, and does not endorse, this Service. Our unit sequences follow publicly available course frameworks; they are not College Board products.

Schools, teachers, and students keep ownership of the information they enter into the Service, including names, class lists, answers, and progress (“School Data”). You give us a limited license to store, process, and display School Data only as needed to provide and support the Service for your school, and as described in our Privacy Policy and any District Agreement.

We may create and use de-identified, aggregated data (for example, how often a type of problem is missed) to improve problem generators and the Service. De-identified data cannot reasonably be used to identify a student, teacher, or school, and we will not try to re-identify it.

The Service, including its software, problem generators, design, text, and trademarks, belongs to AlgebraLoop LLC or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for educational purposes.

Teachers may print, export, or share generated problem sets with their own students. You may not sell generated content, present it as your own product, or use it to build a competing service.

Schools and districts license the Service under a District Agreement or order form that sets the courses covered, the term, and the fees. Courses that are not covered by your school’s license appear as locked. Sample problems are available at no charge.

Fees are non-refundable unless a District Agreement says otherwise. We may change pricing for future license terms with reasonable notice.

We may add, change, or remove features, and we may need to take the Service offline for maintenance. We try to schedule maintenance outside school hours and to announce changes in the changelog. Unless a District Agreement promises a specific level of availability, we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

You may stop using the Service at any time. A teacher may ask us to delete their account by emailing hello@algebraloop.com. A school’s license ends as set out in its District Agreement.

We may suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if the Service is discontinued. When a license ends or an account is deleted, we delete School Data as described in our Privacy Policy.

Sections that by their nature should survive, including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law, continue after termination.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. We do not warrant that generated content is correct, that grading is accurate, or that the Service will meet a particular standard or curriculum requirement.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AlgebraLoop LLC and its members, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or the cost of substitute services, arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms, even if we were advised of the possibility.

Our total liability for all claims arising out of or related to the Service will not exceed the greater of the fees your school paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim arose, or one hundred US dollars.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

If you are a private school, a company, or an individual using the Service on your own behalf, you agree to defend and indemnify AlgebraLoop LLC against third-party claims, and related costs and reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service. This section does not apply to students, and it does not apply to public schools or districts to the extent state law prohibits them from agreeing to indemnify.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that we cannot resolve informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Hamilton County, Tennessee, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If you are a public school or district, nothing in this section waives any immunity or requirement of the law of your state.

Before filing a claim, please email hello@algebraloop.com. Most problems can be fixed in a conversation.

We may update these Terms. When we do, we will post the new version here with a new “last updated” date. For material changes we will email district contacts and teacher account holders at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms. Changes to how we handle student data are also subject to the notice and consent requirements in our Privacy Policy and any District Agreement.
